Building Surveys in South East

Why have an independent survey?

The purchase of a house or other dwelling is usually the largest financial commitment for most people in their lifetime. An independent survey should identify current or potential defects, which could if not attended to make a property difficult if not impossible to resell.

In most cases if defects are discovered on survey the purchaser is able to renegotiate the purchase price and it is thus advisable that all offers to purchase are subject to survey. Valuations undertaken by a bank or building society are simply to enable the lender to establish they will be able to recover their money if the mortgage is not paid.

Its purpose is not to provide you with any detailed information about the condition of the property.
